Chelsea

Good
Chelsea lost!

Bad
I had a few dollars on Chelsea winning. Damn.

I would like to blog more as requested by Sue Anne but I don't feel inspired enough today!

Next time perhaps!

Tech and the Goat's House

For the first time in history, there wasn't a single person online on my ICQ list!

Well, the number of people who had been online in ICQ had been diminishing at a steady rate since the on-start of MSN but I'm still quite surprised to see no one online at all! What happened to those people who keep their computer on 24/7?

Oh well, it's now the age of MSN I guess. I figured that it's easier to chat with MSN, rather then having to click "Send" every time you finish typing a sentence. I'm on MSN all the time, whether I'm at home on my PC or when I'm outside on my mobile.

My friends, if you happen to be on my MSN list and see me accessing MSN through my mobile, please do chat with me. It means I'm bored to the extent I have to go online outside to seek refuge in the virtual chatting world.

Well then, since we are on the topic of technology, let's talk about my phone. A while ago I was self debating on which phone to get and was pondering on the pros and cons of the various phones.

If you had seen me recently, you would know that I'm using a N7610 now and I tell you, I love this phone!

I can surf the net, chat on MSN and sort my e-mails on the go, albeit the slow connection speed (I'm too poor to go for 3G!).

I can take reasonably clear photos and save it to my PC.

I can view my calendar and even synchronize it with my MS Outlook on my PC.

Alas, I'm short of a stylus and MS Office applications but I guess these are secondary needs.

Ah, the merits of technology.

I was at Natalie the Goat's house yesterday and her dog didn't seem to like me!

What a day it was.

First, I was labeled "boring" by a friend. Next, the Goat's friend, whom the Goat claimed that was being wooed by an amazing 16 guys previously and 7 guys currently, said I looked older than her present boyfriend who is 29 this year.

@#$^@!^*$%!!!

And Pepper the dog, after a few minutes of interaction with me, decided that he didn't like me and proceeded to eat my finger. Ok, he managed to nudge my finger but I was faster!

Being bored and boring, the Goat and I tried out some duets and her dog started singing along. At least someone, some dog rather, appreciates my playing! This same character seems to be afraid of me or didn't like me. Music goes beyond boundaries I guess. Goat said that he was whining but I still prefer to think that he was trying to sing along. =)

Well, at least her maid said that I look like I'm 20 this year.

Her mum was pretty nice and very hospitable. She read what I wrote about the Goat the other time! Good thing she was more amused than angered. =)

And Auntie, if you're reading this, thanks for your food again!

I wonder if you had tried making kambing soup before? =)

My New Year so far.

How's your new year so far?

This year I haven't done any visiting as I'm still in the mourning period (my grandfather passed away last year). Nevertheless, the New Year was still pretty good for me. It's more like a gambling holiday! Haha!

Let's see, I went to play mahjong with my friends on the eve and did nothing for the rest of the first day except sleep. At night, I went to watch Racing Stripes, which was rather funny!

On the second day, I went to visit my grandmother in hospital. She was warded for some swelling a few days ago. Thankfully, she looked in high spirits and was chatting loudly and happily away. After that, we went to her place where I proceeded to play mahjong again with my dad, uncles, aunt and cousin.

The third day was spent again at my friend's house playing mahjong. Oh dear, I'm starting to look like a compulsive gambler! We went to town to watch I Do, I Do after the game.

Racing Stripes was quite funny. I like the flies! Most of the humour was between them anyway. The dumbest role went to the pelican. Well, just go watch it, I think it's really quite funny.

On the other hand, try to watch I Do, I Do on a weekday. If not, don't watch it and wait for the VCD. It's a rather good attempt from Jack Neo but the story telling was a bit stale. I'm sorry but it still looks quite cheapo. The animation was terribly mediocre and looked like something from the last century!

Still, I'd still give credit for a local production like this and I thought the twist at the end of the story was quite funny! It seems like something out of Ocean's Eleven.

Happy lunar new year to all!

Anyway, I shall not say much except to update details on a performance.

Beautiful Sunday at the Esplanade
Concert Hall, Esplanade
Singapore Armed Forces Central Band

27th Feb 2005

3 p.m.

Programme
Chinese Spring Festival Overture
Phantom of the Opera, arr. Johan de Meij
William Tell Overture
Fantallusion

And a few pop pieces of which I've forgotten the names.

Admission is free!

It's a good idea to be there at least 30 minutes earlier because the Esplanade people are going to make each and everyone of you queue up for a seat (there?re 1800 seats in the Concert Hall).

So bring your father/mother/wife/husband/family/scandal/mistress/dog/cat/goat (*delete where ever applicable) along and make it a family affair. It's free anyway. =)

Once again,

Happy New Year!

Human nature

Isn't it weird that we often look forward in anticipation to the weekend and yet when the weekend arrives, we complain of boredom?

Human nature is just so difficult to understand.

Why do some people behave the way they are? Surely you would realize something is wrong with your behaviour when the whole world turns against you?

There are people who kvetch over everything in the world. There are people who suffer in silence. There are people who are already 30 and yet behave like someone half their age.

Why am I saying all these? I don't understand myself either.

There will always be politics in this world, like it or not. You don't need a huge organization to do it. It can be done with just 3 people.

I wish I have the power to look into the mind of selected people but in a way it would be scary. I guess all of us have dark secrets that we all bring into the grave. I refuse to believe that an individual can lead a life with no regret in this modern age.
