Concert, Model, Friends

Time for an update!

*

First, an advertisement:

Singapore Armed Forces Bands
In Harmony 22 ? Douglas Bostock

10 December 2006
Esplanade Concert Hall, 7.30pm

FREE!

Tickets will not be issued so all of you boys and girls will have to start queuing up at 6.45pm at Esplanade Concert Hall. If you have been to a Beautiful Sunday concert before, it's exactly the same format.

Pieces are:

The Sword and the Crown
First Suite in Eb
Dance of Flying God
Pictures at an Exhibition

For those who are expecting a band transcription of the Ravel orchestration, you will be disappointed. It's an orchestration for band straight from the original Mussorgsky composition for piano.

Otherwise, please come and see Maestro Bostock in action!

He was the conductor for Tokyo Kosei and is currently serving as their Principal Guest Conductor. He has also conducted many orchestras and bands around the world and has about 70 recordings to his name.

To find out more about him, do a Google!

Civil servants' pay scales are finally going to rise!

Finally!

Everything has been going up for a while, except for our pay. About time too!

The 2.2 months bonus is really going to come in useful for me. I see my new Dell XPS M1210 over the horizon now! Hmmm, plus a new Crumpler backpack and maybe a sling bag too?

Some of you might know that I had been interested in photography for a while.

And so the recent Singapore Motorshow was a great chance to test out model shooting!

Ok, I admit that I was just going there to shoot models. That's all.

Look at it this way, a normal model shoot will cost me anything from $50 for 2-3 models over 3 hours. Heck! I pay $10 for the motorshow and I shot as much as I like!

Anyway, a few photos to show:

(I'm lazy to upload to another server which allows linking lah.)

The world is so small.

The above model, Jamie, asked to see my photos and hence we exchanged contacts. Turned out that she's a trumpet player!

I had been running into people whom I haven't seen for a while recently.

Saw a friend while at Borders the other day, had a chat. Oh! Some of you might know Rosalyn, she's a Power89 DJ and host of some TV show with Wendy Cheng aka Xiaxue.

The next day, I saw another friend. The funny thing is that I was trying out a new route to work and I wasn't even supposed to alight at that bus stop but I did anyway.

Glad to see that they are all doing fine!

Video at Youtube

Found this video of my Korea trip on Youtube!

This was a public performance at the War Memorial in Seoul. Not too sure of the actual name!
