Birthday and Fish

It's official!

I'm now 23!

Happy belated birthday to Zalina and Susan!

I was just thinking. What's the hype about birthdays? The optimist thinks that we have grown older and wiser. The pessimist thinks that we are getting closer to death.

Which do you belong to?

I've actually gotten to a point where I don't really care about my own birthday celebration. Perhaps a few special people helped changed that view!

Special thanks to the following people!

Jane, for the cake and special surprise!

Natalie and Luke, for the cake. It was quite a surprise really!

Sheryl, for your card!

Caijin, Carol, Ying Chyi, Calvin, Jiahui, Rebecca, Joo Bee, Zalina, Aileen, Huifen, Keith for the birthday wishes!

There are a few more, but they just happen to slip my mind, sorry if I did so!

*

I was having dinner at Sakae Sushi with a friend the other day.

She stared a fish-sushi moving pass us on the conveyer belt for a few seconds and declared:

"The fish is dead."

I still have a sore bum from falling off my chair.

Weird things and wannabes

I had the weirdest dream the other day.

I dreamed that I was in Shanghai for a beauty pageant. No, I wasn't taking part in it.

The pageant was held on top on a very tall and uncompleted building. There was this platform on the roof on which spectators stands were erected.

Somehow, I walked up a flight of stairs and I ended up in a tavern. It was one of those that you would normally see in wuxia films.

While walking around in it, guess who called me on my phone?

Fann Wong.

Why her of all people?!

It was so weird, I was chatting with her like old friends. I even remember asking her how Christopher was!

I also saw a friend who I haven't seen in ages in the tavern.

Weird.

*

Talk about weird things.

I was on the bus the other day when this woman boarded the bus with, guess what?

A NTUC shopping cart.

*

Why are there so many young ah lian wannabes out there these days?

I was at a bus stop when 2 young girls alighted.

They sashayed off the bus like some divas. It was as seem like the whole world had offended them. And I tell you, their dressing was terrible! No wonder they attracted attention.

Lame

I was in a queue to withdraw money when I overheard the following conversation between 2 guys behind me.

A: Why do you call a joke lame? How can it be lame?
B: Because it would make the person hearing it go weak in the legs.

Talk about being lame.

Go Away, Shoo!

No, I am not interested in Mesothelioma, whatever it is, thank you very much!

Does anyone know how to stop these comment-ads?

Seeing Stars and Hokkien Service

I was at a MRT station yesterday and I saw this blind man walking a distance from me. I saw two young girls went up to him and started talking to him excitably. I was wondering why he looked so distinctly familiar when I realized that he was the winner of the whatever singing contest that was.

Well, he seems friendly enough, judging from the way that he conversed with the girls.

Yet another girl was gushing away about him when I was walking away from the station.

"Oh my god! He was on the same train as me... blah blah blah!"

I think she has quite a squeaky high voice and her excitement made it worse!

I really think I have problem recognizing local celebrities. I have this Kelvin Tan right in front of me and I didn't know who he was. I had have Rui En and Taufik walking pass me and I didn't have a single clue to who they were until someone pointed it out to me.

Hmmm.

Maybe I should watch more TV.

*

I walked past a church the other day.

There was a banner on its wall stating the various time and language of services.

I didn't know they did services in Hokkien and Cantonese too!

Since God is also known as Heavenly Father, I was wondering if the pastor would start a sermon by saying: "Lim pei ka li kong..." (And Father(God) said)

*PS/Disclaimer: Hey! I consulted my Christian friends before posting and they thought it wasn't offensive but do let me know if you think it is!

Watching my mouth. Hand rather.

2 bloggers were jailed for making racist remarks about other races.

Hmmm, I shall be nice from now onwards.

Yongxiang is so considerate. No, he's not jian at all.

Jiahui is such a demure and quiet girl!

Natalie is... erm... erm... a nice go... GIRL!

Keith is so slim!

Shannon is so handsome!

And I love Dorean Tan!

To prevent any potential problem with SPCA and AVA, I shall treat all animal visitors to this blog with respect.

Goats and cows will be given the best quality hay and grass. The field opposite my house is an excellent place for grazing. There are many dogs in the vicinity and I'm sure the grass is amply fertilized!

Shell, Osim, Quidam, 5 Things

You know the Shell bus stop advertisement with a CCTV mounted on top and says: "Shell Price Police at Work"?

I think it's quite clever! It's so clear and blatant.

I spent 2 minutes scrutinizing the CCTV before realizing that it was just a mock up. (The said bus stop was directly opposite a competitor with a clear line of sight) There are some without a clear line of sight and somehow the effect is gone.

*

I think one of the best jobs in town is to work in an Osim showroom.

Every time I pass by an Osim showroom, I see their employees sitting on the massage chairs, seemingly having a good time while some others are using the other machines like the leg massager and this vibrator which you strap around your waist.

Good life right?

*

I so enjoyed myself at Quidam the other day!

I went into the show somewhat wondering whether the money I spent was worth it and came out feeling that every single cents were well spent!

I think the part where I enjoyed most was - don't say I'm a paedophile! - the part with the little Chinese girls with the spinning, erm, whatever it's called. You know, they have this rope in their hand which they use to spin something which looks like a top. Someone enlighten me please!

There was also another segment where they have this comedy routine with audience participation. I've seen the whole routine on TV before but somehow it was still very funny to see it "live".

Do go and watch it, it's highly recommended!

*

Okay, so I'm tagged by Sue Anne to list 5 things that no one or little knows about me.

1. I can be a perfectionist at times. I once shifted a line in my architectural drawing because of a difference of 0.01mm.
2. I have an untidy table.
3. I...

I can't think of anything! Can I stop at 2?

Crash

Sigh.

My computer crashed over the last few days. I'm in the process of recovering everything now, where's all that blasted installation CDs???

Thank goodness I didn't lose anything except for my MS office and assorted programmes.

Anyway, I just went to watch Quidam yesterday and it was worth every single cent I paid!

It's pretty small actually so you can just get the cheapest tickets. They are at the side or you can just fork out a little bit more for better seats!

I'll back to blog soon. See you!
