my thoughts |
I actually thought of something to blog about before I fell asleep last night, but I've forgotten what it was about! Anyway, to all my friends who are STILL reading this page despite my lack of updates: Hope all of you are doing fine! It's less than one week to my lesson and I still haven't gotten any good reeds. How? Throw me an oil lamp and 3 wishes now and I will wish for the perfect reed that last forever. Thinking back, playing the oboe has never been easy. From the day I started playing, there has always been a surplus of criticism, most of it behind my back. Some people actually had the impression that I played the oboe all the from my early band days. No. I started only in late 2001, with proper lessons only in 2002. Hey! It's nearly 5 years now! And my playing is still nowhere compared to all the LTCL holders. Oh well. It takes a strong character to play the oboe I guess. Only oboists know how it is like to be one. I think I need a change in direction in life. I've been drifting too much. It's perhaps time to find a new goal, and possibly a new job. My tentative ORD date is 14 Feb next year.
